An Open Letter to teachers,
I believe, without a shadow of a doubt, that you are the biggest contributors to a changing world. You are the ones who go home after a long day and spend hours planning lessons and activities to improve the lives of 36 students, 4-5 times a day, 180 days out of every year. The ones who don’t really get a summer break because you’re busy planning. Here’s to you, the people that from their first day of the job to the last day have the opportunity to impact 1,166,400 lives out of the 318.9 million residing in the United States currently.
With numbers like these, the power to influence the direction of the world, lies in your hands. Have you ever thought of that? You are the individuals that educate, inspire, invest, and empower thousands of lives. That’s a heavy job. So, to the teachers that go above and beyond to care for their students here’s a ‘thank you’.
Thank you to the teachers that strive to have all the answers at their fingertips after they spent hours enriching their own minds.
Thank you to the teachers that challenge their students AND provide them the resources to overcome the challenge presented.
Thank you to the teachers who search for hours to find the perfect activity.
Thank you to the teachers that come early and stay after.
Thank you to the teachers that genuinely make an attempt to understand the lives of their students and care for them.
